Today, I want to take a look at Best Practice Number 2 from the Legacy Leadership® model (this is the model that serves as the foundation for my Inimitable LeadershipTM series of group masterminds). This best practice states that a leader is a “Creator of Collaboration and Innovation.”

Generally speaking, great innovation comes from groups of focused people who build upon one anothers’ ideas. Why this is important in both small and large organizations is that most industries require constant innovation and adaptability to thrive. Yes? Why this is important today is that according to the media, we’re in an economic downturn, and collaboration and innovation may be the determining factor about whether business survive or die.

Last week, in the “Miracle on the Hudson”, we saw an excellent example of how real teamwork saved the day after the plane landed. No one person could have gotten all of those passengers off the plane safely alone. Their success was directly attributable to everyone knowing and understanding their roles, having “A” players on the team and clear thought in the midst of chaos.

As a brain-based coach, the primary thing I do is to facilitate better thinking.

What would better decision making and clarity in the midst of chaos mean for you in your life and work? What would it mean for the people you work with?

Until Monday, peace and prosperity,
Carolann
