Woo Hoo Woo Hoo, Making My Radio Debut
In case you couldn’t tell, I’m very excited to have been invited as a guest on the “Business Networking Brunch” this Sunday. We’re going to be on the air from 9am – 11am Central time on 1360 am in Dallas.
Managewiches, I am there to beat the drum for the cause. Some of the topics I plan to hit:
- Why middle managers are integral to execution
- Why leadership is important in all levels of the organization
Managewich Tip: Negativity Doesn’t Work, So Quit Getting Sucked In

I had a great weekend. As most of you know, Grow Your Business Grow Your Life LIVE! was in Dallas this past Friday and Saturday, and I was blessed with the opportunity to be a part of the behind the scenes planning and execution. I say blessed because I got to spend time with bright, generous, kind people, and frankly it was uplifting.
The Customer Experience & The Managewich

My hubby and I just got back from an awesome trip to Cancun. I bought the trip somewhat last minute from Sams Club of all places. It was a surprise for Russ’s birthday, so I wanted it below the radar. The trip was almost too good to be true price-wise, and even though I did my research, my biggest concern was that the hotel was going to be awful.
Today, I am Puzzled.

Today, I’m puzzled.
As I am out and about at various networking events here in the DFW metroplex, I meet a lot of struggling solopreneurs. It seems like many businesses just aren’t doing as well as they were a year or two years ago. Something about the economy? Anyway, the usual topic of conversation when we have facilitated group discussions is around needing more clients or customers.
Tax Day for LLC’s
For my Small Business Owner friends…. friendly reminder that today (not Oct 15) is tax day for certain entities.

The Omniscient Managewich
I have a question for the sandwich generation of managers, middle managers or owner managers, stuck in the middle of competing priorities and agendas:
Why is it so hard to know what someone else really wants or believes, and yet, how is it that we know others’ intentions just by looking at their body language or actions?
Paradoxical, yes?
Inspirational Workplace Q&A – I am losing my job, but I don’t know when…
Q. At the end of last year, I received the top rating on my performance review. I asked if any layoffs were on the horizon, and my manager told me that it was possible, but my job was safe. I thought I’d be lower on the list for a reduction because I did so well. About two weeks ago, I got my 30 day notice of a lay off. I was shocked, and I haven’t really done anything to look for another position. Now, my manager tells me that they may need me around for another month or two. He thinks that we might be able to extend it out until this storm has passed. I’d like to keep my job if I can. What should I do?
The Tale of SLB– Really, I couldn’t make this up if I tried

Oh, you guys…. I’ve been sitting on this one for over a week because I didn’t know how to tell you about it in a way that wouldn’t be disparaging to the individual, because I think I’d like him as a client. I know the person who related this to me would like me to have him as a client. But this is just so…. The Office or maybe Dilbert. To “Dick” – oops, sorry.

Finding Value in Unproductivity
I went to my friend’s lakehouse this weekend with several friends. My plan was to get some work done while the rest of the group were out fishing. (I fish, but not when it is cold and drizzly.) I didn’t even get out my work bag, and honestly, I was kind of bummed because I didn’t even have the inclination to something done.
